A bold and bright bathroom, Glasgow

This gorgeous bathroom was once two smaller spaces: a cramped family bathroom and a oversized en-suite in the bedroom next door. The owners wanted to create a bright large family bathroom with room for a bath and separate shower enclosure. We arranged for the dividing wall to be moved by a metre to rebalance the space and create a laerge bathroom and smaleer ensuite. The old windows were refurbished and fitted with etched glass to provide privacy and add an elegant pattern. We laid under-floor heating beneath the wonderful patterned Moroccan floor tiles, which we sourced from a French company. As their colour is so prominent, we contrasted them with white wood panelling on the walls. The patchwork curtains were made from remnants of fabric, which is an affordable way to make curtains for large windows. We added to the eclectic feel with art from Tighnabruaich Gallery, various antique finds, vases from Ikea and striped towels from John Lewis.
