This elegant, detached holiday property is set on a hillside in the seaside village of Tighnabruaich, Argyll. When the owners took possession it was in good condition, but needed character. The aim of the project was to create a stylish, comfortable and inviting holiday house that reflected its coastal location. As a holiday property to be rented out, it needed to be uncluttered and easy to maintain, but with personality and charm throughout.
We furnished and decorated the property using the very best materials. Many of the original features remain, including cornicing and sash windows. These work alongside vintage finds and modern splashes to create a fun, relaxing house. Lounging sofas, thick rugs, colourful cushions and glowing side lamps create a warm atmosphere, while old maps and nautical touches, such as the light-house theme blinds, create a lovely seaside feel. Scottish art is featured on the walls and we used tartan and tweed to add a splash of Scottish country glamour.
